Turmeric aka Curcuma Longa is a perennial plant belonging to the ginger family and has been used for the past 4000 years for a variety of conditions including dyeing, being used up as a food ingredient and medicinal purposes. Turmeric has its roots mainly in Southern Asia; counting India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran and parts of Sri Lanka. It’s a plant that grows in suitable environmental conditions such as requiring temperatures between 20 to 30 degree Celsius and a substantial amount of rainfall to contribute to its sufficient growth. 

Its regarded as one of the most powerful herbs that currently exist on the planet capable of fighting and hypothetically reversing life-threatening diseases. It has a number of healing properties such that it has been widely prescribed by doctors, consultants and even Muslim physicians. One of its compounds, Curcumin is known for its exceptional healing power that is equal to a thousand pharmaceutical medicines. This is the reason why Turmeric is considered to be the best and most frequently used medicinal herb in the history of science. Other such popular herbs include, garlic, ginger, ginseng and cinnamon. Turmeric has various health benefits that surprisingly lots of people are unaware of. In this fast-tracked world of technology, people depend immensely on machines and advanced drugs for a cure to their long-lasting diseases but we don’t really find a stress-free and healthy way of medicating ourselves which is easier to opt for and highly pocket-friendly.

Since Curcumin has been strongly known for its anti-inflammatory features and assists in pain reducing, a study was carried out to compare its health benefits on rheumatoid arthritis patients in comparison to when they were being treated by other arthritis drugs such as Diclofenac Sodium. Interestingly, people treated with Curcumin had significantly higher improvements than the latter and had no diverse affects such as developing a leaky gut and various heart diseases that other drugs impacted.
